Privacy policy

Effective October 16, 2026

W.W.J.S. is a Christian scripture and prayer companion provided by Aether Technologies LLC, based in Tucson, Arizona. This policy covers the W.W.J.S. web app and its native test builds. Contact us at mrrich@aether.company.

What the app processes

How replies are generated

The current conversational model and speech-generation model run on our Amazon Web Services (AWS) server. The app does not route these generation requests to an external AI API provider. Replies and prayers draw on the Holy Bible and Christian teachings; AI reflections and prayers are not direct Bible quotations. Scripture excerpts are identified separately. Generated translations and AI replies may contain errors.

Storage and retention

Conversation text: the application server code processes messages in memory rather than intentionally saving a conversation database. On-device conversation history is held in the current app session; starting a new conversation clears that in-app history. This does not delete audio already created on the server.

Audio: new personal recordings receive separate random IDs and private playback tokens rather than being shared between users. Their access expires 24 hours after the request, and a cleanup task normally deletes expired recordings within the following minute while the service is running. You can use “Delete my recording” to remove your current recording sooner. The playback token is held in the current app session; closing or resetting the session may remove your access to that delete control. Anyone with the full token-bearing link can use it until expiry or deletion; this is link-based access, not an account login. Public scripture recordings may be retained and reused separately. Previously generated recordings from before these controls were introduced are no longer available through their old public links; their stored files are being handled separately. Deletion from our server cannot remove copies someone has already downloaded.

Scripture caches: the live server caches scripture translations in memory and a local database for reuse across restarts. The cache is limited to scripture responses; personal conversation replies are not saved to that shared response cache.

Content reports

When you choose Send report in the native app, we receive the displayed AI reply, your explanation, the app language and a report reference with submission time. Your conversation history is not attached. We use reports to review harmful or incorrect content and improve safety. Please do not include private details. Reports are stored in a private server database and automatically removed after 30 days while the service is running. Reports are not posted publicly.

Sharing and hosting

AWS hosts the app backend and delivers app content. The Aether company website and this policy are hosted through OpenAI Sites. The reviewed app code contains no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by applicable law or to protect the service and its users.

Your choices and requests

Your rights depend on where you live and applicable law. We will review requests and respond as required. You may also contact your local data-protection authority.

Security and sensitive information

The public app connects over HTTPS. We do not offer end-to-end encryption or promise that every internal infrastructure connection is encrypted. Messages about prayer, beliefs, family, or health can reveal sensitive personal information. Send only what you are comfortable having processed on our server. W.W.J.S. is not a medical, counseling, or emergency service.

Children

Please do not submit personal information about children. A parent or guardian concerned that a child has shared personal information can contact us to request review and deletion of identifiable stored material.

Updates

We will update this page and its effective date as data handling changes. Material changes will also be explained in the app when implemented.
